Sour Cream (or Yogurt) Chocolate Chip Muffins

Sour Cream Chocolate Chip Muffins

My mom has been baking these muffins for as long as I can remember.  I request these every time we are going anywhere that requires me to be at my parent’s house in the morning. They are easy to make, light, fluffy and melt in your mouth delicious – but come with two rules: 1. They have to be eaten hot 2. You have to put butter on them… and this is coming from the girl who avoids butter and oil at all costs – it just makes the world of difference with these muffins.

Here is what you will need to make 12 muffins:

1 egg
1 cup sour cream (or plain yogurt)
¼ cup milk
1 ¾ c sifted flour
2 tbsp sugar
1 tsp baking powder
½ tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 cup chocolate chips

Beat egg. Stir in sour cream and milk. In a separate bowl sift dry ingredients together. Blend into wet batter. Fold in chocolate chips. Pour into 12 greased or lined muffin tins and bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes. Enjoy…but don’t forget the rules!
